A dental crown is a small restoration that wears “several hats” in modern dentistry. This tooth-shaped cap can repair damage, replace missing teeth, and cosmetically enhance unattractive ones. Getting a dental crown is traditionally a two-visit procedure that can take weeks and sometimes months. Thanks to CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) technology, we can plan, fabricate, and place dental crowns in a single visit. CEREC can be used to make crowns, onlays, and veneers. The materials can be zirconia, lithium disilicate, or resin-ceramic hybrids.
So, how do CEREC same-day crowns work? Here’s the step-by-step procedure.
CEREC technology has revolutionized how we restore smiles with dental crowns in Hamden, Connecticut. The entire procedure—from planning to placement—can take as little as 90 minutes. What does this mean? You no longer have to take days off from work or school to get a crown. You don’t have to “baby” a temporary crown while waiting for the permanent one, and you don’t need to get anesthesia twice.
As a trusted cosmetic and restorative dentistry leader, Pearl Dental Care proudly offers same-day dental crowns in the Hamden area. Our CEREC crowns deliver speed without compromise—they are as durable and functional as traditional crowns, if not better.
