Whether you suddenly break your tooth when playing your favorite sport or a lingering crack finally gives in, you need to restore your tooth right away. Otherwise, the more you wait for restoration, the more the discomfort disrupts your life. Traditionally, getting a crown used to take weeks, but today, thanks to CEREC crowns, dental practices like Pearl Dental Care can restore your tooth within one appointment! This means no wait, no temps, and the most important thing: you walk away from our dental practice with a fully restored smile.
Traditional and CEREC crowns perform the same function: they fix a badly decayed, damaged, or otherwise compromised tooth to restore its appearance and strength. Whether you are getting a conventional or same-day crown, the process starts with tooth preparation. After numbing your tooth, we shape your tooth to create the ideal contours for a crown. However, instead of using gooey manual impressions, we digitally scan your mouth and use computer-aided design (CAD) to create a 3D model of your crown.
Next, we send the digital images to an on-site milling machine to fabricate your crown. The machine mills your crown from a ceramic block skillfully chosen by our dental team to match your natural teeth. Creating your crown takes about 15 minutes! Once it’s ready, we ensure it’s a perfect fit, polish it, and secure it permanently on your tooth using dental cement.
Many patients smile ear to ear when they learn about same-day crowns. CEREC crowns offer many benefits, including:
